Hello and welcome to our February Artisan Design Team Hop. This month we are showcasing the beautiful Dear Doily and the Well Said Bundles. I had so much fun creating with these bundles I couldn’t stop …so decided to make a coordinating set.

All eight cards fit into the acetate boxes inside the handbag holder, which I have made with the intentions of giving this as a gift.

Dear Doily Handbag Card Set, made by Emma Goddard Artisan Design Team Member 2019. Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in the UK www.coastalcrafter.com #coastalcrafter #stampinup #papercraft #deardoily #wellsaid #adt #artisandesignteam

This handbag design is very simple and you can then decorate it up as you wish. The Whisper White card (7″ x 11″) has been scored and folded (at 4-3/4″ and 6-1/4″) to allow the two acetate boxes to slide in and out. The acetate boxes are glued together with tear and tape, this allows for 4 cards and envelopes in each side.

The front of the box has been decorated to coordinate with the card below, with the addition of the triple ribbon. Three piece of ribbon have been attached across the card and stuck behind the panel with some tear and tape. Once the 3 pieces of ribbon were in place, I have then tied a separate piece around into the bow.

The 4 notecards are fairly simple to make, all with the same design, and then changing up the words. The Well Said stamp set and dies gives you SO many options for different words you have a lot of choice with this set.

The doily has been inked up in Coastal Cabana first and then before stamping I have used the dauber to add on some Granny Apple Green ink to get a mix of the colours – don’t they go so well together?

The strips of Coastal Cabana cardstock have been run through the Subtle Embossing folder for some added texture and the cards finished off with some Whisper White Bakers Twine and Rhinestones!

The card front is using the Shimmery White cards stock. To create the background I have die cut out the doily from another piece of Shimmery White. The piece which is left over from cutting out the doily is the template to add on the paste and and the die cut doily is what I have then used for the front of each card.

The Shimmery white card stock is great for adding watercolour! I have used the aqua painter to add on a swoosh of Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green over the top of each of  doily. Once dry, they have then been run through the Big Shot with the Subtle embossing folder. I have added a touch of glue to hold them in place, but they have mostly been held on with the stitching.

I just adore these sentiments and the swirly font – isn’t it just gorgeous? I have again made the two cards with the same layout but changed up the sentiments from the same set.

That is all from me today, I am now sending you on over to the fabulous Jackie Aitken who I know has some amazing creations in store for you. 1. Thank you so much Manuela, the Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green are a combo I shall be using more often for sure! x

  1. Wow, wow and more wows. These are all such stunning projects Emma. My favourites would have to be the two birthday cards with the larger diecut doily. Those watercoloured doilies are gorgeous

  2. Oh WOW Emma!! The white with the little pops of colour is just beautiful!! Such stunning projects and I love all the different layers and elements. Fabulous idea to water colour the doilies and then emboss them with the subtle embossing folder! Thanks for sharing! Rochelle xo

  3. WOW…what a lovely gift this collection will make! My favorite is the ‘Happy Birthday’ with the watercolor doily. Great color combination. LOVE the stitching detail. Did you use a regular sewing machine to achieve the look?

    1. Thank you! Yes, just my regular sewing machine with white thread. I only really use it for my cards these days. If I wanted to sew fabric I think a new needle would be needed :)

  4. Gorgeous, gorgeous cards! Love how you made the little purse to hold the gift of cards.

  5. Whooo Emma what a job! I love the mix of Apple Green and Costal and the cards are all very beautiful but the idea of preparing a case for storage is just great! My preference is the second card series and all the details added! That’s wonderful !
